Skin Laxity and SaggingYour treatment options, honestly explained

Losing skin firmness is one of the most universal experiences of ageing, and one of the most treatable. Here is an honest guide to every non-surgical option at The Plasma Doctor, and which works best for what.

Skin laxity, the gradual loss of firmness and definition that comes with age, is one of the most common concerns we see in consultations. The good news is that this is one of the most treatable areas in non-surgical aesthetics, and the range of options at The Plasma Doctor is broad.

Why skin loses firmness

Collagen production peaks in our early twenties and declines by approximately 1% per year thereafter. Elastin, the protein that allows skin to snap back when stretched, declines in parallel. Fat compartments in the face deflate and descend, and the structural layer beneath the skin loses tension. The visible result is a face that looks heavier at the bottom than it used to, with less jawline definition and skin that has lost its ability to hold position against gravity.

Your treatment options at The Plasma Doctor

We offer several distinct approaches to skin laxity, each working through a different mechanism. Choosing the right one depends on the severity of laxity, the specific area of concern, and what you are trying to achieve. In most cases, the best outcomes come from combining two or more of these thoughtfully.

Deep structural tightening

HIFU

Delivers focused ultrasound energy to a deep structural layer to trigger collagen remodelling and genuine lifting. Best for early to moderate jowling and neck laxity.

Peak results: 3 to 6 months · No downtime
Skin regeneration

NeoGen Plasma

Triggers a deep regenerative response across the full skin surface, improving laxity, texture, tone and quality simultaneously.

View NeoGen treatment
Peak results: 3 to 6 months · 3 to 5 day recovery
Subdermal laser

Endolift

A fine laser fibre beneath the skin causes immediate tissue contraction and long-term collagen remodelling, particularly effective for jowls and neck.

Peak results: 3 to 6 months · Minimal downtime
Bioremodelling

Profhilo

Ultra-high concentration hyaluronic acid that stimulates four types of collagen and elastin, improving firmness, elasticity and hydration.

View Profhilo treatment
Peak results: 4 to 8 weeks · No downtime
Regenerative injectable

Polynucleotides

Injectable treatment that triggers cellular regeneration and new collagen synthesis, particularly effective for thin or compromised skin.

Which is right for your laxity?

The most honest answer is that it depends on where you are starting from. For early laxity, the first signs of jawline softening, a combination of Profhilo for overall skin quality with HIFU often produces excellent results with no downtime. For moderate laxity, more defined jowling or visible neck change, NeoGen or Endolift are likely to form part of the plan.

For patients with significant laxity who want to understand where non-surgical treatment genuinely ends and surgery begins, we will give you that honest conversation too. There is a point at which surgery is the right answer, and we will tell you clearly if we think you have reached it.

Skin laxity is one of the most treatable concerns in non-surgical aesthetics. But treating it well requires the right diagnosis, the right combination of tools, and someone with the clinical judgement to know which fits which patient.

Why combination treatment usually wins

Skin laxity is rarely just one problem. It is almost always a combination of structural change at depth, loss of collagen in the dermis, reduced skin quality at the surface, and some degree of volume loss. A thoughtfully combined approach that addresses several of these simultaneously produces results that feel genuinely transformative rather than incremental.

At The Plasma Doctor, we do not sell packages. We build individual treatment plans based on what we actually see in consultation. If the right plan for you is one treatment, that is what we recommend. If the best result requires three approaches working in sequence, we explain why, what order makes clinical sense, and what to expect at each stage.
